It's Time To Blog Again
Okay, so I've been very lax about blogging lately. I got kinda burned out on traveling while in Thailand and just stopped. I resorted to sharing my Thailand and Japan adventures on Facebook instead. It was so much easier to do in 140 word "sound bites" than to really write about my experiences in those places.
Tonight I had the opportunity to attend a MeetPlanGo Meetup with Shelly Ott and Michaela Potter hosted by BootsnAll in downtown Portland. It was awesome! There are a bunch of people in town for Chris Guillebeau's World Domination Summit. I was able to do some networking with fellow travelers and get a little bit of inspiration, which I have been lacking since coming home last September.
As a result of this uplifting evening, I have decided to write down some goals for this blog. Here they are:
1) Attend the Travel Blog Exchange Conference in Vancouver, BC from June 9-11, 2011
2) Write one blog entry per week, building up to more as time progresses.
3) Focus more on narrative writing, less on "journal-style" writing with an emphasis on story-telling.
4) Network with other travelers online and in person, when possible.
5) Work towards a new blog design and web presence. Make some decisions about web hosting, layouts and design. Maybe even get a logo!
I cannot wait until next weekend in Vancouver, BC! I feel like this is the beginning of something big for me.
