Lazy Sunday in Barcelona
05.30.2010
This morning I had breakfast in the hostel with the girl from Montreal, the one from Portland and a guy from Seattle. The Pacific NW is representing well in Barcelona.
I was moving to a place recommended by my Canadian friends, Pension Palacio. It's closer to everything, costs a bit more, but I have a private room with shared bathrooms. It's also close to the ferry terminal.
I carted my stuff to the subway and found the pension without difficulty. I checked in and then wandered around the waterfront area, which was very close.
I had a late lunch at the place around the corner from the pension. I had fresh-squeezed OJ and a chicken burrito. I went back to the pension for a nice nap.
I woke up feeling refreshed so I decided to walk to Las Ramblas. Everyone was out walking. Las Ramblas is another tourist area, but it was fun to people watch and see what was there. I eventually headed toward the Cathedral and continued wandering, looking at scooters and people and just enjoying the walk. I found a ton of gelato places, too!
I spent a couple of hours walking around before heading back to the pension to capture some of the Camino pictures on my laptop, then off to bed!
