Day 20: Boadilla del Camino to Villalcázar de Sirga, 20.7km

05.06.2010

Today I said goodbye to Petra and Henrik.  They walked to Frómista to get a bus to Palencia, then a train to León.  I miss them!  They were a lot of fun.

I walked from Boadilla del Camino to Frómista with a French-Canadian from Montreal named Daniel.  I stopped in Frómista for a cafe con leche and a bathroom break.  I ran into Petra and Henrik one last time while they were waiting for their bus.  Henrik said to me, "I told Petra this morning that something was missing and she said, Heather!"  Aww....I really do miss them.

The walk from Frómista to Villalcázar de Sirga was pretty uneventful.  I stopped for lunch at an Albergue in Villarmento de Campos and was charged 3€ for a cheese bocadillo half the size I have been having for the same price.

I stayed at Casa Aurea, a private Albergue/Casa Rural, with five other beds in the room.  It was clean and warm.  The shower was warm, but not hot.  I took a nap, then wandered around town for a bit.  I went into the church and ran into the Germans from Boadilla del Camino!  I then went back to the bar attached to the Albergue and had the menu de peregrino for dinner.  I chose the Castillan soup and stewed chicken.  I'm still not 100% sure what was in the soup but it was good.  The chicken was also good.  I had ice cream for dessert then went back to the room and went to bed.
