Strange Brew: Day 4- July 12, 2007

Vancouver, BC

This morning we slept in. We decided to go to Granville Island. I have always wanted to check it out everytime I have been to Vancouver and this seemed like a good time to do it. We rode the scooters down there and found a place to park. We wandered around in the Public Market for a while then we each bought some food for lunch. I had a roll with marinated mozzarella balls and a veggie salad washed down with a Dad's Rootbeer. It was great. We wandered some more and found some kids chasing bubbles from a bubble machine. They were so cute!

After that, we went back to the hostel. Shayne went swimming in the ocean, I took a nap (do we see a theme here? Hee Hee!) and MJ hung out. Shayne had been to this cool vegan restaurant before and so we went there for dinner. It was super cool. It's called Foundation and it had the best food (and the worst service, also another theme). I had a veggie curry meal and it was so good. When MJ went to the bathroom, someone had drawn a picture of a turtle on the wall with an eqaul sign followed by the words "Foundation Service". (MJ, correct me if I am wrong here) I think that is an accurate description. It took almost an hour for us to get our food, which I thought was a little crazy. Otherwise, it was good food and we enjoyed ourselves.

Since we had to get a decent start in the morning, we went back to the hostel and got ready for the ride to Seattle. Early to bed, early to rise....or something like that!
